Since 2003, LMC has presented over 13 jazz festivals and hundreds of concerts and music workshops. For 8 years, LMC was the music producer for the West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival, which took place on Ogontz Avenue and consisted of 3 days of non-stop music on four outdoor stages. Every year, LMC hired an average of 56 bands including: The O’Jays, Teena Marie, Chaka Khan, Ashford and Simpson, Parliament Funkadelic, Benny Golson, Esperanza Spalding, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dave Sanborne and many others. Following the West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival, LMC produced the Philadelphia United Jazz Festival (currently in its fourth year) outdoors on South Street in Philadelphia. www.philaunitedjazzfestival.com
For the past nine years, with the support of the William King Foundation, LMC has produced its signature series Jazz Up, Down and Around , which showcases the many directions jazz can take. Click here for more information
LMC has also been presenting “Friday Night Jazz” at the Woodmere Art Museum in Chestnut Hill for the past five years as has produced outdoor jazz concerts in several center city parks for the Center City District.
LifeLine Music Coalition, works to establish forums and opportunities for Philadelphia area musicians and poets to present their works. LifeLine Music Coalition will also provide opportunities for cultural exchange and collaboration with worldwide community organizations and institutions.
