Suzanne Burgess began singing professionally a few years ago but, in reality has been singing all her life. Originally, a native of Southern Chester County, Oxford PA where she is the oldest of three, Suzanne now makes Philadelphia her home. You can call her “country gone city” but, she adores her simple roots. Her church roots, schools and talent shows growing up, prepared her for the stage. The mission of Project Capoeira, Inc. is to preserve, develop, and share Capoeira, a Brazilian folk art that combines elements of martial arts, music, dance, and acrobatics. Our activities grow intercultural understanding and a sense of community through arts education and social outreach. The organization uses Capoeira as a vehicle to promote other Brazilian arts and to preserve Brazilian culture in Greater Philadelphia.
